Sam Newton
Of the five Newton brothers, three survived to adulthood—Harold, Lemuel, and Samuel. Harold was the oldest and Samuel (Sam) and Lemuel were the youngest. “Lem” lives in Tifton, Georgia, where he grew up.

Sam Newton, born in 1948 in Tifton, Georgia, began painting in the 1950s, encouraged by his brother Harold. He emphatically insists that he and his brothers are not Highwayman. However, he does drive a Cadillac and keeps a painting or two in the trunk of his car. He has a gallery in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and lives with his wife, Monica, in Merritt Island, Florida.
