Alphonso (Poncho) Moran
Moran, who was born October 14, 1930, in Vero Beach, Florida, attended Gifford High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was trained as a barber and worked at Ronnie’s Barber Shop in Gifford, Florida, and he also was a house painter. He was known as an outstanding pool player.


Moran knew Hair as well as the other Highwaymen and began painting in the mid- to late 1960s. He died at age seventy-two on March 3, 2003, of complications from diabetes.
